Clustering Analysis, it is a collection of data objects; those objects are similar within the same cluster. That means the objects are similar to one another within the same group and they are rather different or they are dissimilar or unrelated to the objects in other groups or in other clusters. This will help to understand the differences and similarities between the data. This is sometimes called segmentation and helps the users to understand what is going on within the database. Clustering is the task of dividing the population or data points into a number of groups such that data points in the same groups are more similar to other data points in the same group than those in other groups. A solution to the cluster problem is usually to determine a partitioning that satisfies some optimality criterion. This optimality criterion may be given in terms of functional relation that reflects the levels of desirability of the various partitions or groupings.
